Rabbit Food Grocery Thrives One Year After Relocating To All-Vegan Tarrytown Mall – Entertainment & Life – Austin 360

Four years ago, Jessica Morris and Gabriel Figueroa opened the first all-vegan market in Austin.

Rabbit Food Grocery operated on South First Street for three years before moving last March to 2425A Exposition Blvd., which is a fully vegan mall in Tarrytown that’s also home to the popular vegan gastropub, The Beer Plant.

I used to hang out at Rabbit Food Grocery all the time, but I had only stopped at the new location earlier today when I had to buy a few of the new Yellowbird Sauce mini packs. , which they sell for 25 cents each.

I was happy to find a huge selection of plant-based products, from meat substitutes and dairy-free cheeses to candles, animal-free clothing and gifts. You can buy canned and jarred items, including Loma Linda’s popular meat substitutes and San Antonio-based vegan queso, Ksogood, as well as fresh, dried, and frozen items, such as dried jackfruit, sausages. with tofu, chicken pies and PLOW’s famous vegan tuna salad sandwich. (I tried the Chick’n Pot Pie and the Plow Sandwich on my Austin360 Facebook livestream this week, and both were really good.)

You’ll remember Morris was one of the co-authors of “The Taco Cleanse,” the 2015 cookbook that went viral for its tongue-in-cheek post about consuming vegan tacos, which is also available for purchase. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, and you can find out more at rabbitfoodgrocery.com.
